Wealth and Asset Management Concentration
The BBA (Hons) Wealth and Asset Management Concentration aims to cultivate ethically grounded, globally competitive young professionals equipped with expertise in wealth and asset management, ESG investing, and FinTech applications, while addressing critical talent shortages in Hong Kong’s wealth and asset management sector. By integrating specialized topics on family office operations, sustainable finance, and cross-border wealth strategies into the curriculum, the concentration seeks to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a leading global financial hub, particularly within the Greater Bay Area. It further strives to align with government initiatives to prepare graduates to drive innovation, uphold regulatory standards, and contribute to the city’s goal of becoming the world’s premier cross-border wealth management center by 2027–28.
More specifically, the objectives of the BBA (Hons.) Wealth and Asset Management Concentration are:
1. To develop a strong proficiency in fundamental concepts such as portfolio management, ESG investing, FinTech tools (e.g., blockchain, AI analytics), and family office operations among students, aligned with regulatory and market demands in Hong Kong, the GBA, and international markets.
2. To equip students with hands-on experience through internships and collaborative projects with financial institutions, family offices, and FinTech firms and execute real-world solutions to real-world problems.
3. To train students in communicating effectively in global contexts by articulating wealth and asset management strategies in multilingual and multicultural settings, preparing for leadership roles in Hong Kong’s international finance sector.
4. To allow students to apply ethical and sustainable practices in designing wealth strategies that integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and compliance frameworks to address global financial challenges.
