Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours)

Programme Director: Mr MAN, Ryan K L

The BBA (Hons) degree programme prepares students for careers as managers and business professionals. All students receive a foundation in business and general courses plus a specialisation in one area of business through the choice from one of the eight Concentrations:

- Accounting Concentration
- Economics and Data Analytics Concentration
- Finance Concentration
- Human Resources Management Concentration
- Information Systems and Business Intelligence Concentration
- Marketing Concentration
- Strategic Retail Management and Innovation Concentration
- Wealth and Asset Management Concentration

BBA students are required to take Required Courses (46 units, including a BBA Project) and Concentration Courses (21 units) that include the basics of business such as accounting, economics, management theory, quantitative and computer techniques, language and communication skills, and behavioural sciences. This is the largest component of the curriculum.

BBA students at HKBU must also complete University Language courses (9 units) and General Education courses (22 units). These give students an exposure to other fields such as English, Chinese, Healthy Lifestyle, Culture and Civilization, Quantitative Reasoning, and Values and the Meaning of Life. Students can make use of the elective courses to pursue the additional graduation options of a minor in non-business discipline or double concentration within BBA.

The BBA (Hons) degree programme is structured such that students begin with General Education and business foundation courses in Years 1 and 2, taking more advanced and more specialised courses as they move into Years 3 and 4.  In Year 4, students complete an Honours Project on a topic of their selected Concentration.

Double Degree Programmes in Business

Double Degree Programme with NEOMA Business School

By spending the first and final year at HKBU BBA, and the second and third year at FHNW, students will receive a BBA and a Bachelor in Business Administration (International Management) conferred by HKBU and FHNW respectively. The programme equips students the necessary knowledge and competencies to work across multiple functions and cultures. Transdisciplinary Second Majors / Second Majors

The University envisions the importance of transdisciplinary innovations in response to the global challenges and offers a flexible curriculum structure that is much more agile and fits the present and yet-to-known future needs. Students of designated programmes will have the opportunity to opt for a transdisciplinary second major (TSM) / second major (SM) on top of their major. TSMs are geared for particular talent needs in Hong Kong and prepare students to pool knowledge from disciplines to excel in multiple careers, whereas SMs prepare students to gain in-depth knowledge from another discipline to complement the first major. This approach equips students not only for their careers, but also the future development of their respective fields. Seven TSMs and two SMs will be launched in the 2025/26 academic year. More details will be available in due course.
