Minor Programme in Sport and Recreation Management

The overall aim of the Minor is to provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical experience in sport and recreation management.

After completing this programme, students should be able to

  1. Explain the concepts and theories in sport and recreation management.
  2. Identify the key issues and impacts concerning sport and recreation management for different populations in the society and the global world.
  3. Develop sufficient knowledge and positive attitude for sport and recreation profession.
  4. Demonstrate effective communication, team work, and leadership skills.

The structure of the curriculum is as follows:

II) Elective Courses 12 units

II. Elective Courses 12 units
  Select any four of the following courses in accordance with the requirements: 
  PERM3016 Fitness and Recreation for Selected Population 3 units
  PERM3046 Theory and Practice in Sport and Recreation Management 3 units
  PERM4005 Facility Management 3 units
  PERM4006 Financial and Human Resources Management in Leisure Services 3 units
  PERM4007 Leadership and Communication in Sport and Recreation 3 units
  PERM4017 Principles and Practice of Exercise and Weight Management 3 units
  PERM4115 Marketing in Sport and Leisure Services 3 units
    15 units
