Master of Science in Personal Health Management (Chinese Medicine)

The programme aims at bringing in an integration of the knowledge and skills of Chinese medicine with the conventional medicine to enhance the prevailing methods in health preservation/rehabilitation. Also, the programme intends to promote the benefits of Chinese medicine to the community; and to nurture a generation of high caliber personnel in health management with a new emphasis on Chinese medicine, who will contribute to public health management and health education promotion in Hong Kong and overseas.
Programme of Study
For full-time basis, the normal programme of study for the programme is one year, and the maximum study period is two years. For part-time basis, the normal programme of study for the programme is two years, and the maximum study period is three years. Lectures, practicum and dissertation are arranged.
Structure
It is a 30-unit programme comprising of Compulsory Courses (27 units), and MHM 7180 Dissertation (3 units) / Elective Course: MHM 7170 Formulation Theories and Practices of Chinese Medicinal Formulae (3 units).
Students who have not previously studied Chinese Medicine or Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine must take, in addition to the above, a supplementary course MHM 7200 Overview on Chinese Medicine and Chinese Materia Medica.
