Master of Science in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

Programme Director: Prof LEUNG, Yiu Wing

The programme focuses on the concepts and practices of information systems and covers three themes for advanced information systems (namely, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Information Systems). Students learn solid concepts and gain hands-on skills in these themes, so that they could apply these concepts and skills to solve real-world information system problems.

On completion of this programme, students will acquire:

  1. the core concepts and methodologies of data analytics, artificial intelligence and intelligent information system;
  2. the ability to apply data analytics, artificial intelligence, intelligent information systems and the related technologies for problem solving and applications; and
  3. the ability to identify business needs and explain how to apply data analytics, artificial intelligence and the related technologies to transform the business needs into information systems.

The programme is offered in both one-year full-time and two-year part-time modes:

  1. One-year full-time mode: The normal duration of the programme in the full-time mode is one year, with a two-year maximum study duration, provided that due approval of study extension has been granted.
  2. Two-year part-time mode: The normal duration of the programme in the part-time mode is two years, with a three-year maximum study duration, provided that due approval of study extension has been granted.
