Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Compliance
Programme Director: Dr WU, Davy K C
In response to an increasingly complex regulatory environment and ever-rising expectations of investors and stakeholders, the Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Compliance programme (the Programme) provides specialized training and imparts practical knowledge to prepare directors (in particulars, independent non-executive directors), company secretaries, and professionals in the related fields to strengthen sustainability and accountability of their organizations. This professionally recognised master degree can help our graduates undertake senior roles in their organizations, from management to boardroom.
Students are required to take 8 required courses and 2 electives in a variety of disciplines, including accounting, finance, legal studies, management, business ethics and compliance. Students can select one-and-half-year part-time or one-year full-time within a trimester system. Part-time students will be required to attend two classes per week on weekday evenings or one may be on Saturday afternoon. Full-time students will be required to attend three to four classes on weekday evenings and Saturday afternoon. Part-time students can choose to take one elective course each in the first and second trimester in their second year studies including Project which will be offered to them in the second trimester of their second-year studies. To cope with the one-year student period, full-time students will take one elective course each in the first and second trimester of their studies. Full-time students choose to take the Project (subject to approval of the MScCGC Programme Director) can choose to take one elective course either in the first or the second trimester. The Project will be offered to full-time students in the third trimester.
