Master of Science in Green Technology (Energy)
Programme Director: Dr HU, Qian
The programme aims to further the training of graduates for a career in energy management, renewable energy technologies, energy audit, and energy management. The programme exposes the highly interdisciplinary nature of green technology as it encompasses the fields of energy science, renewable energy technologies, and the social and economics implications it has on human activities. The content of the programme covers the areas of energy production, energy usage, energy audit, environmental monitoring, energy management and hands-on experience.
The programme provides the rigorous and scientific training associated with the renewable energy technologies, the problem-solving skills, and the collective knowledge of the economics, the policies and the regulations for effective energy management. A key feature in the MSc programme is to enhance students' learning by the extensive experimental activities and research project work that all students must complete to graduate. We see an importance in the graduates’ ability to understand and appreciate the implication of the technologies on society.
The MSc programme covers both the classroom and the extra-curricular activities, such as field trips to green-tech related industrial sites and guided research projects. The connections the programme established with the industry and professionals will also help to maintain our MSc with a high standard. Courses are also available to help students to prepare for professional certification examinations*. This whole-person training approach is the education ethos that our University values.
