COMP4146 Prompt Engineering for Generative AI (3 units)
- Prerequisite:
- COMP3057 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning OR COMP3117 Applied Artificial Intelligence
- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This course introduces students to prompt engineering for generative AI systems. With the advancement of large language models (LLMs) and other generative AI technologies, the ability to design effective prompts has become a critical skill. The course aims to provide students with both theoretical understanding and practical skills in crafting prompts that effectively communicate with and control generative AI systems. Students will learn the principles that govern different types of generative AI models, develop techniques to optimize prompt design, and build applications that leverage these powerful systems. Throughout the course, some emphasis will be placed on ethical considerations, evaluation methodologies, and the practical applications of prompt engineering in real-world scenarios.
