This introductory course presents students with the concepts in linear algebra such as vectors, matrices, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and factorisations. Emphasis is given to how these are used in real-world practical applications in industrial development such as computer graphics, machine learning and pattern recognition. Practical examples with various software packages and scripting languages will be used to supplement the theoretical concepts.
