HRMN4006 Employment Law and Practices (3 units)
- Medium of Instruction:
The course aims to equip students with the essential and practical knowledge of employment law and employment practices, with a focus on the employment contexts in Hong Kong. It covers legislation that is commonly used by managers and HR professionals in everyday employment situations and practical skills for managing employer and employee relationship. Legal issues in relation to hiring and termination, workplace harassment and discrimination, personal data protection, occupational safety and health, and employees' compensation and benefits will be introduced from a practical perspective. Best employment practices, International labour standards, and employee relations topics will also be included. The subject matter will be addressed through a mix of lectures, case analyses, and experiential exercises.
