Graphic design is the process of communicating with the use of images/illustrations, texts, shapes and colours to solve a problem and convey a message to a particular audience. VART2515 Graphic Design is an introductory course to explore the fundamental principles that enable such visual communication.
Visual language in graphic design has changed over time. The goal of this course is to introduce the basic design theories that have evolved since the beginning of modernity, and to develop creative strategies for visual problem-solving.
Please note that this course does not include teaching of graphic design computer software. Knowledge of such software is not required to complete the course work, but may turn out helpful.
