PERM3057 Internship - Overseas Placement (2 units)

This two-unit course requires students to work in an overseas organization for at least 250 hours. Students can choose their placement in different types of sports, recreation, and academic agencies. These agencies could be public, private, voluntary, commercial, or academics. This course aims to (1) provide students with firsthand knowledge and understanding of community structure and forces which affect them; (2) provide students with opportunities to interact and collaborate with the professionals on the job and to gain working experience in the real world; and (3) provide students with opportunities to put knowledge and theory into practice through experiential and work-integrated learning. Through the internship experience, students are expected to develop professional techniques and skills, intercultural understanding, employability, and career readiness in the related fields, while gaining international experience through partnership and knowledge sharing with host organizations.
