This course aims to strengthen the knowledge and quality education of basic chemistry and further extend the chemistry knowledge to organic chemistry so as to build up a foundation of organic chemistry principles relevant to the study of some subjects in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. It connects core concepts to applications in human health and wellbeing, as well as in industrial and technological innovation. This course aims to establish the students' understanding on structure, bonding, hydradisation, formal charge, stability, acidity, basicity, solubility, and reactivity for organic compounds.
