The primary aim of this course is to introduce students to the history, development, and cultural significance of pop music. Through a combination of listening, analysis, and discussion, the course seeks to foster an understanding of the key musical, social, and technological factors that have shaped pop music from its origins to the present day. Students will gain an appreciation for the diversity of pop music and its role in reflecting and influencing society and culture. By the end of the course, students will collaborate in groups to create a pop song incorporating their technological innovations.
