This course deals with probability and statistical methods, which are essential for understanding science, technological innovation, and social economic issues in the modern world. The emphasis is to build the numeracy skills on what, how, when and why certain probability model and statistical methods can and cannot be applied. Topics include exploratory data analysis, distributions of random variable, estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, simple linear regression and nonparametric methods. Students will learn to use common software like R for statistical tasks and use AI tools to assist with coding and visualization.
