MAIB7170 AI-enabled Data Visualization (3 units)
- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This course equips students with the skills to transform complex data into clear and compelling visual narratives by integrating data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and visual design principles. Through hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, students will learn to use large language models (LLMs) to assist with code generation and narrative explanation. The course blends theoretical foundations with practical application, covering data visualization principles, Python programming, machine learning techniques, and LLM-supported storytelling.
- Learn how to design clear, audience-centric visualizations grounded in design theory and perception science.
- Use Python and open-source libraries to develop effective and interpretable data graphics.
- Apply machine learning and LLMs to enhance insight extraction and narrative generation.
- Evaluate visualizations for ethical and communicative effectiveness.
