This course provides students with a framework for understanding how international news is produced and the key issues facing the news industry. Through regular readings, discussions, case studies, written assignments and presentations, students build familiarity with major global stories, contemporary trends and the role of leading international news organisations. Students engage with a wide range of English-language media sources and develop the ability to explain and discuss current events clearly while evaluating news sources for credibility, strengthening their news media literacy. The course uses a flexible, discussion-based format that responds to breaking news and student interests.
