This course develops students’ ability to report and write accurately on local and international issues using fundamental newsgathering and writing techniques. It focuses on the principles of reporting, while strengthening students’ ability to produce clear, concise and engaging news stories for an international audience. Through the analysis of professional journalism and regular reporting practice, students will learn to cover spot news and develop feature stories to a professional standard using effective journalistic storytelling. Students will also engage in critical discussions of ongoing current events in international media.
