- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This multimedia journalism laboratory course gives students hands-on experience reporting and producing news stories through different digital storytelling techniques, including photography, audio and video. Students will work both as reporters (i.e. finding and gathering content) and editors (i.e. processing and producing content) on individual assignments and on a group final assignment to produce news stories of local and international interest. Students will critically analyse the use of photos, audio and video by major news organisations around the world and gain an understanding of how composition, structure and format affect how a story is told. Students will participate in discussions on current events and issues impacting multimedia journalism, such as the use of AI in newsrooms and be asked to reflect on the ethical and legal implications in journalism.
