This course examines key theoretical and analytical approaches in international relations and their application to contemporary global issues. It introduces students to major IR frameworks and perspectives and explores how they can be used to understand the dynamics of power, conflict, cooperation and global order in the 21st century. Particular attention is given to major developments in global politics, including China’s role in the international system, regional security issues, economic relations, and emerging challenges such as technological change. The course equips students with the conceptual tools needed to analyse and interpret international events and issues in a structured and informed manner so to better apply these skills to the professional practice of journalism
