Students will gain hands-on experience in journalism practices across diverse media platforms, including print, television, and digital media. The course focuses on: - Understanding the operations of Chinese and English publications and media platforms. - Exploring financial reporting and news production workflows. - Helping students identify their preferred media type for Year 3 and Year 4 specialization. - Introducing the role of AI tools in journalism, including automated writing, data visualization, and fact-checking.

Under supervision, students will rotate between different practicums for one semester, including: -San Po Yan, The Young Reporter, BNN and Financial reporting duties. Non- Chinese-speaking students will be assigned to The Young Reporter and financial reporting only. Chinese-speaking students must complete both English and Chinese reporting training. Students will also be introduced to AI tools for journalism and learn to integrate technology into reporting workflows.
