This course introduces students to the Humanities as an area of studies. It examines the forces that shape the formulation human values and development of culture and offers multiple perspectives drawn from cultural studies, media, to literature and philosophy. By exploring the Humanities as an interdisciplinary field, the course highlights the importance of critical thinking, and equips students with the cultural and civic literacy to understand the relationship between Humanities and contemporary society. This is a course that encourages respect, promotes citizenship and contributes towards an equitable and inclusive society.
