In this course we will travel back in time to the South Asia of the historical Buddha to uncover the vibrant intellectual scene that inspired the founding and development of Buddhism, early medicine, philosophy and science. Along our path we will meet wandering ascetics, kings, and examine some of the mysteries that remain unsolved even today! Through this adventure we will explore how knowledge traveled across global networks and through different languages to shape how we experience and understand the world.
