This elective course examines the global phenomenon of micro-drama—ultra-short scripted performance designed for digital platforms (e.g., TikTok/Douyin, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels). This course blends theory and practice to investigate the aesthetics, dramaturgy, production methods, platform ecologies, and audience dynamics of short-form storytelling. Students will analyze cross-cultural case studies, develop acting techniques tailored to vertical video and compressed narratives, and evaluate and create micro-drama works. By integrating performance training with strategy and practice, students will be equipped for contemporary screen performance and creative industries.
