Departing from the Western cultural project of historical humanism, this seminar investigates the role of love and desire in the emergence and development of humanist thought. The course explores how the erotic functions as both a catalyst and a consequence of knowledge production, creativity, and cultural formation. Tracing these themes from classical Greek philosophy to posthuman aesthetics, students will engage with a diverse range of creative, critical, and theoretical texts. This critical examination of historical narratives actively supports gender equality by interrogating traditional gendered constructs of desire, while fostering advanced, inclusive education.
