ENGL4066 World Literatures (3 units)
- Prerequisite:
- ENGL2007 Literary and Comparative Studies
This course examines the conceptualization and historical trajectories of "world literatures." Through case studies of creative and cultural exchange—particularly the historical transformation of the idea of China from the eighteenth century to the present—students are invited to rethink linear models of literary history. By engaging with historical, comparative, and critical methodologies, the course sustains a humanist tradition that fosters inclusivity and promotes the cross-cultural understanding essential for peaceful and inclusive societies.
