- Co-requisite:
- BMSC1015 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This course provides a solid foundation in molecular biology and its clinical applications. Core topics include gene expression and regulation, advanced recombinant DNA technologies, and protein detection methods such as Western blotting. Emphasis is placed on how molecular techniques are applied in modern clinical diagnostics, enabling students to understand their use in the clinical setting. Learning is reinforced through hand-on experience, group discussions, and submission of laboratory report. These activities will allow students to actively participate in the learning. The performance of students and their results of the experiments are used to assess their understanding on the topics.
