This course aims to provide students an opportunity to gain entry-level, career-related real-life working experience and professional development related to the entertainment business and/or arts, cultural and creative industries, ultimately promoting youth employment and decent work. Under the guidance of both faculty and workplace supervisors, students will work in an organization—ranging from large institutions to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)—as interns. They will complete work assignments that are primarily related to the organization’s business operations such as venue operation, administration, marketing, project and event management. Alternatively, students may be involved in content creation, or given an opportunity to bring changes for existing and emerging forms of arts and culture, contributing to product innovation and creative growth. It is believed that the overall internship experience provides valuable learning opportunities that can enhance students’ transdisciplinary vision. This process will be helpful in establishing and/or verifying the students’ career intentions, preparing them for productive employment and fostering entrepreneurship within the global entertainment sector.
