- Prerequisite:
- VART1006 Visual Arts Practice II or any GE courses offered by AVA
- Medium of Instruction:

This course aims to bridge the gap between traditional drawing techniques and modern digital applications, recognising that while traditional drawing remains fundamental for visualising concepts, the increasing demand for images across both online and offline platforms has made digital tools essential for visual artists. With advancements in input devices such as drawing tablets and handheld computers, the transition from analogue to digital has become seamless, allowing for the creation of hybrid images that combine both traditional and digital methods.
The course provides an introduction to industry-standard software, specifically Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop), as well as other popular motion image applications like Adobe aftereffect. Students will acquire foundational skills and knowledge in digital drawing and moving imaging.
While mastery of these applications will require additional practice beyond the course duration, our objective is to lower access thresholds, familiarise students with the principal functions and features of these programs, and guide them toward effective solution strategies in their creative processes. Ultimately, this course prepares students to navigate the essential digital tools that support and enhance the digital still and moving images creation.
