This course deals with probability and statistical methods by using computer software. The emphasis is on what, how, when and why certain probability model and statistical methods can and cannot be applied. Topics include exploratory data analysis, distributions of random variable, estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, and simple linear regression. Students are required to solve a variety of problems by using computer software to improve their basic numeracy skills. In particular, students will learn to use common software like R for statistical tasks and use AI tools to assist with coding and visualisation.
