DIFH2005 Digital Humanities Methodologies (3 units)
The primary objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the concepts and methodologies associated with Digital Humanities (DH). Throughout the course, students will gain hands-on experience on how to effectively acquire, analyse, interpret, and visualise data. These skills will enable them to investigate a wide range of research questions that pertain to the utilisation, sharing, and presentation of data within the humanities and social sciences.
The course will also introduce students to the significant cultural transformations that the practice of digital humanities instigates. Students will explore how digital tools and techniques are reshaping scholarly research, communication, and dissemination. By the end of the course, participants will not only be equipped with practical skills but also a deeper understanding of the broader implications of digital humanities on contemporary scholarship and cultural practices.
