BUSI4035 Social Innovation (3 units)

The purpose of this course is to engage students in the evolving field of social innovation. Students will acquire knowledge on the latest trends, development and implementation of ideas, concepts and solutions in social innovation.
These innovations envision creation of positive contribution to social progress and improvement of individual or community well-being. To address the challenges in systemic social or environmental issues, the process often involves collaboration across sectors, including government, business, and civil society. It is through such collaborative efforts that facilitate the sustainability and scalability of the solutions.
The course design is apt to be experiential learning. Students will have the chance to engage with social innovation project owners, learn and reflect through active interaction and participation. The emphasis is to augment traditional learning through hands-on application experiences.
