BUSI3005 Business Communications in the Digital Era (2 units)

This course, adopting a blended learning approach, focuses on equipping students with the essential skills needed in business communications, where digital technologies have transformed the roles of the three pillars of interpersonal interactions: written communications, verbal communications, and behavioural communications.
The course also places a strong emphasis on verbal communications skills, students will develop their abilities to speak effectively, engaging their audience in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Students are required to craft business documents under different business scenarios and to explore how digital technologies have influenced the way these documents are created, disseminated and received.
This course recognises the critical role of behavioural communications in business success. Students will explore the importance of non-verbal cues and professional etiquette in building professional relationships. The course also address the impact of cultural differences on communication styles, equipping students with the skills to communicate with diverse audiences in a global business perspective.
