Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming scientific research and discovery. This course aims to provide an overview of emerging AI tools and necessary scientific knowledge for AI-driven innovation and data-driven discovery. The course adopts an integrated approach to showcase applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence in science and technology across various fields including health and life science, environmental science, material science, drug discovery, quantum chemistry, etc. Students will learn through class participation and case studies to understand and appreciate artificial intelligence to solve problems encountered in science and technology discovery.
