TRAN4067 World Building: Language, Culture and Translation (3 units)
Throughout this course, students will explore the crafting of fictional worlds, with special emphasis on the creation of language landscapes, the inclusion of multilingualism, the portrayal of cultures and interculturality in fiction, and the role of translation in fictional environments. Students will develop an understanding of the complexities involved in world building from a linguistic and cultural perspective and strengthen their world building abilities via collaborative and technology-supported methods.
