This Course focuses on the translation of legal and government document in the linguistic context of Hong Kong. It aims at developing students' ability to analyze and translate legal and government document by adopting the appropriate strategies and presenting in the acceptable genres. Authentic samples of legal texts (e.g. case laws, ordinances) and texts used in public administration (e.g. memos, minutes, press releases) will be used for discussion, analysis and translation tasks.
