This course aims to enrich students’ awareness of and respect for the diversity of cultures and people across the globe. Through the non-local outreach experience, students are expected to develop global perspectives on various social, political, economic and environmental issues across different cultures and geographical regions.
The objectives of this course are fourfold:
(1) to enrich students' awareness of and respect for the diversity of cultures and people across the globe;
(2) to help students develop global perspectives on various social, political, economics and environmental issues across difference cultures and geographical regions;
(3) to assist students to identify solutions to complex, authentic problems relevant to the local, regional or global community; and
(4) to enhance students' personal growth and their competiveness by improving their skills in communication, leadership and transdisciplinary problem-solving.
