This course aims to offer new students in the Faculty of Social Sciences a broad understanding about the nature, basic principles, methodologies, and developments of social sciences. The major research and teaching areas of the Faculty of Social Sciences at HKBU will also be introduced. The course includes three major parts: (1) What is social science? (2) How to conduct social science research? and (3) Social Sciences at HKBU. A Library Instruction Session offered by the HKBU Library is incorporated into the course.
