PERM2007 Tests and Measurement (3 units)

The course introduces the concepts of measurement and evaluation and their importance in decision making in physical education and recreation settings. It covers the skills necessary to make valid measurement decisions including criteria for test selection, test administration and data analysis and interpretation. It aims to (1) prepare students to effectively implement measurement and evaluation techniques in physical education and recreation settings; (2) developing students the ability to select appropriate tests based on the principles of measurement and evaluation in individual performance and programme effectiveness; and (3) provide students experiences in administrating tests in various learning domains and applying statistical techniques in data analysis.
