MKTG7190 Creative Service-Learning Project (3 units)
This course aims to provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience related to service learning in real-life settings. Under the guidance of a faculty member, students working in teams of 3-5 will collaboratively provide strategic marketing solutions to one of the business entities in the creative economy, including but not limited to an individual artist, a NGO, a social enterprise and/or a business organization. The service partner is subject to the decision by the Programme Director. Students will critically analyze and investigate options on how creativity, culture and innovation could be used in communicating, distributing and adding value to their products and services. By the end of the course, students are expected to develop a marketing plan to demonstrate new perspective on how arts and business can collaborate. In order to facilitate international dialogue exchange, student presentations will be conducted in a form of International Virtual Symposium. International experts will be invited to be judges on online platform(s) to give feedback on each student project.
