This course is designed for students who have completed Intermediate Cantonese I or with equivalent competence in Cantonese. With emphases on oral and listening skills, the course will further enhance students’ proficiency in Cantonese vocabulary and grammar. Language patterns related to daily life in Hong Kong such as appearance and dressing, meetings and interviews, electronic products, accidents and emergencies, public affairs and relations, etc. will be introduced. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and apply a wider variety of commonly used vocabulary and phrases related to daily communications and current events, speak Cantonese with varied sentence patterns in an organized manner, acquire better oral and listening skills, and engage in longer normal-paced Cantonese dialogues.
