This course introduces basic physics concepts and engineering toolbox for applications in innovative green and smart technologies that empower the sustainable development of energy intensive cities, such as Hong Kong. It explores quantitative principles and methodologies underlying, e.g. green energy generation, smart energy usage and distribution, and smart sensor control systems, which are the essential technological prerequisite towards building modern smart and net-zero carbon cities.
