GEOG3016 Geography of Pacific Asia: Regional Development and Geopolitics (3 units)

The aim of this course of study is to provide a wide-ranging survey of the regional development of Pacific Asia. In particular, China, Japan, and the ASEAN states from Pacific Asia are the key players in the Asia-Pacific. The objectives of the course are to examine the historical, cultural, socioeconomic, and geopolitical characteristics of the region as well as emerging issues in the region; It is also expected that at the end of the course students will have developed a broad-based knowledge of the power relations among key players in the region.
