ECON7800 Macroeconomics (3 units)
This course introduces the basic macroeconomic models related to economic growth, economic fluctuations, financial frictions, heterogeneity, and unemployment. The focus of the course is to train students on applying the relevant macroeconomic models to analyse contemporary macroeconomic issues. We emphasise the integration of theory and computation, which helps students interact with the models in a much more powerful way and develops a skillset much more broadly. We emphasise the key implications of economic ingredients especially heterogeneity for policy analysis.
