ECON3046 Economic Development (3 units)
- Prerequisite:
- ECON1005 Principles of Economics I or ECON1007 Basic Economic Principles or equivalent
The goal of the course is to equip students with a solid theoretical and empirical foundation to form economic thinking of growth and development issues. The course will first provide an overview of the economic growth and development around the world, introduce classical and contemporal economic growth theories, and then organize the development issues around several themes: poverty and inequality, population and migration, education, health, agriculture, geography, environment, institution, trade, and finance.
