Public health and family medicine is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and improving the population health, and providing continuing and comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families.

The objective of this course is to give students an overview of public health and family medicine. in the following aspects: (1) the principles of community medicine, epidemiology and biostatistics; (2) the main approaches of lifestyle medicine and preventive medicine in primary care; and (3) Hong Kong health care system.
