- Co-requisite:
- BMSC1009 Biomedical Sciences Laboratory IIA
- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This primary objective of this course is to equip students with a solid foundation in the principles of molecular biology and biochemistry. It will cover essential concepts such as gene expression, regulation, and advanced recombinant DNA technology. Additionally, students will explore key metabolic pathways and their relevance to various diseases. The course will emphasize the application of basic biochemistry knowledge to clinical scenarios, including the use of molecular biology techniques and biochemical measures for diagnosing pathological conditions. Practical sessions in BMSC1009 will further reinforce topics like recombinant DNA technology. Group discussions, problem-based learning activities, and clinical case studies will also be incorporated to enhance students' learning experience.
