- Medium of Instruction:
- English
All students of the BASc (Hons) in Arts and Technology programme are required to undertake Work Experience within their preferred career area during their time of study. A Work Experience links classroom theory to professional practice, and thus will provide the student with learning experiences beyond the possibilities of the BASc (Hons)-programme. Such experience will be valuable for the student’s professional and personal development, and in particular very helpful in establishing and/or verifying the student’s career intentions. As any internship is not supposed to interfere with the regular studies of the student, it will usually be taken as a summer activity during summer holiday or during term-break.
Work Experience will be self-organised by the student, in a company, corporation, or institutional body related to arts and technology, or apprenticeship to practicing artist, designer, curator, visual arts professionals, musicians, composers, sound engineering professionals. Students may also work with NGOs to carry out transdisciplinary works relating to the sustainable development goals. To fulfil the course requirement, student needs to attain a workload equivalent to a minimum of 70 working hours in one single employment. The nature of work performed by the students during the Work Experience programme should reflect a reasonable professional level as would be expected in the creative, cultural or technology sectors and to be approved by the Work Experience Course Coordinator.
