The technological affordances of social media are altering the nature of content dissemination and consumption by journalists, organisations, and the public (audiences). News and commercial organisations increasingly look toward social media platforms to gain audiences and revenue streams. This course takes an in-depth look at the use of social media for content management by journalists and digital marketing professionals. The aim of the course to let students understand social media content management as a dynamic and strategic planning process. Through course materials and hands-on practice of digital skills, students will learn in a practical learning environment. Relevant case studies will also be shared so that students can identify the mistakes and successes behind different social media campaigns.
