This course aims to develop students’ advanced skills in finding and gathering information for producing news and feature stories in Chinese. Students are introduced to specialised reporting and covering beats. The emphasis will be put on developing students’ ability to generate ideas for news and feature stories and apply various journalistic tools to conduct in-depth interviews and archival research and present their findings logically and creatively. The course is designed to provide information and support for students in their concurrent work in the San Po Yan as well as to help prepare students for their internships and honours projects.
